Additional ADA Opioid Webinars Coming Soon

Feb 15, 2018

If you missed the recent free webinar "Improving Opioid Prescribing: The CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain, and Considerations for Dentistry,” don’t fret! The ADA will be hosting three additional free webinars this year as part of their 2018 Opioid Webinar Series.

Each webinar is worth 1 hour of CE credit. Complete two of the remaining three webinars this year and you will satisfy the requirements of the Virginia Board of Dentistry’s regulation 18VAC60-21-106

The next webinar will take place on Wednesday, April 25. Visit the ADA Center for Professional Success’s page on Preventing Opioid Abuse for additional resources and updates on this webinar series. The VDA will also post information on new webinars as they become available.

As a reminder, any dentist who prescribes Schedules II through IV controlled substances is required by the Virginia Board of Dentistry to obtain 2 credit hours of education on pain management by March 31, 2019. This webinar also supports the ADA's statement on the Use of Opioids in the Treatment of Dental Pain

It is important to our organization that we offer our members the resources they need and that we work together to protect this profession and its patients. In recognition of the importance of this particular issue, the ADA is offering free access to these webinars, regardless of membership status. Please take advantage of this opportunity and share it with your colleagues, members or not.
