The Virginia Dental Association (VDA) is a non-profit organization whose vision is to continually improve the quality of dental education and treatment within the state of Virginia. We are affiliated with the American Dental Association (ADA). The structure of our association is known as "tripartite" in that a member of the ADA is typically a member of three associations at once. The first is the ADA, the "national association," the second is the VDA or "state association," and the third is the local or "component" dental society. The Commonwealth of Virginia is divided into eight local components.
