CDC Releases New Infection Prevention Guidelines
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on March 29 released new guidelines on infection prevention for dental settings. These guidelines are not intended to replace existing ones, CDC officials said, but to supplement them. One new guideline, for instance, notes “the importance of having one person in every dental office assigned as the infection prevention coordinator.” The new publication, “Summary of Infection Prevention Practices for Dental Settings: Basic Expectations for Safe Care,” is online here.
