FEMA is in the process of sending millions of N95 masks to all 50 states. FEMA has indicated that upon delivery of these masks the Governors or appointed administration officials will have the discretion to determine who in the state should receive them. 

In order to treat patients in the safest manner, dentists will need access to the appropriate PPE to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission among patients and dental team members. Dentists are an essential part of the healthcare workforce and it is of critical importance for them to have an adequate supply of N95 masks to treat these patients.  

The VDA sent a letter to Governor Northam to request that a supply of N95 masks be set aside for dentists in Virginia.
