President/President-Elect
Current Opening: ONE position available
Term: One year - 2026; then President - 2027
Job Description (President-Elect): The president is a convener within the organization. Their focus is on understanding the organizational workings of the VDA (by reading its bylaws) and developing relationships with state and component leadership and staff, as well as committee (or council) chairs, so that they can effectively carry out the responsibilities of the president during the subsequent year.
Job Description (President): The president is the voice of the members and the link between the ADA, the state organization, board members, component leadership, and student networks. The president is the spokesperson for statewide initiatives during his or her term and works closely with component leadership, as well as committee chairs, to make sure program details and expectations are communicated and understood by those executing them. The president is also the state’s eyes and ears, collecting programmatic cues from the ADA and other state associations.

Secretary-Treasurer

Term: Two years (2026-2028)
Job Description: The secretary-treasurer is the supervisor of all monies and dues of the VDA, as well as payment of all expenses as authorized by the Board of Directors. As a member of the Board, provides an annual financial report to the Board and House of Delegates.

Job Description: Attend all the regular sessions of the House of Delegates, the District 16 caucuses and other meetings as the chair of the ADA Delegation shall designate. Serves a three-year term.
