Oct 31, 2016

*Presidential: Virginia leans Clinton.

*Gubernatorial: Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) is term-limited in 2017.

*ADPAC does not contribute to Presidential or gubernatorial campaigns.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D) is running for Vice President.  If he wins, Gov. McAuliffe will appoint someone to fill his term which expires in 2018.  There is suspicion he may appoint himself.

Sen. Mark Warner (D) will be up for re-election in 2020.

VA-01- Rep. Rob Wittman (R) is the incumbent; ADPAC supports.

VA-02- Open- Rep. Scott Rigell (R) is retiring.  Rep. Randy Forbes (R) represented VA-04 and decided to run in VA-02.  He was defeated by state delegate and Iraq war veteran Scott Taylor (R).  Mr. Taylor will easily win the general election.

VA-03- Rep. Bobby Scott (D) is the incumbent; ADPAC supports.

VA-04- Open- Rep. Randy Forbes (R) lost primary reelection in VA-02.  Sen. Sen. Don McEachin (D) won the primary and will win the general.  ADPAC supports Mr. Eachin.

VA-05- Open- Rep. Robert Hurt (R) is retiring.  State Sen. Tom Garrett (R) and county official Jane Dittmar (D) will square in the general.  Mr. Garrett is favored to win, but if the climate is right, this could be very close or he could lose.

VA-06- Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R) is the incumbent.

VA-07- Rep. Dave Brat (R) is the incumbent.

VA-08- Rep. Don Beyer (R) is the incumbent; ADPAC supports.

VA-09- Rep. Morgan Griffith (R) is the incumbent; ADPAC supports.

VA-10- Rep. Barbara Comstock (R) is the incumbent.  This is a very moderate district outside Washington, DC.  It is a very expensive district.  The Democratic opponent is real estate developer LuAnn Bennett.  Combined, both candidates have raised over $6 million, and outside groups have spent millions more.  This race is currently rated as a "toss-up"; ADPAC supports Rep. Comstock.

VA-11- Rep. Gerry Connolly (D) is the incumbent; ADPAC supports.
