In 1870, a group of nine dentists met in Richmond to discuss the science of dentistry, improve their professional skills and develop their characters by forming a group that was then known as the Virginia State Dental Association. In 2020, the Virginia Dental Association will celebrate 150 years of organized dentistry in the Commonwealth. While much has changed since the Association was formed, a dedication to supporting the profession and serving our members remains at the core of the VDA. Please join us in celebrating what we have accomplished in the last 150 years, while we look forward to continuing to be the voice of dentistry in Virginia for the next 150 years.
