Governor Terry McAuliffe  announced  recipients of the 2015 Governor’s Volunteerism and Community Service Awards recently during an awards ceremony held at the Governor’s Mansion. These awards spotlight the outstanding efforts individual and organization volunteers make on behalf of citizens throughout the Commonwealth.

Do you love running, walking, festivals, and supporting the Foundation?!  Well this is your chance to do all of these at one great event on Saturday, October 17th.  The VCU Broad Street Mile combines a street festival with a 5K Run and series of one-mile fun runs on the city’s major thoroughfare, Broad Street.  In addition to providing a fun, festive event, the VCU Broad Street Mile provides the Foundation with a fundraising opportunity.

Suffolk was invaded by loads of dental equipment, volunteers and smiling faces at last weekend's Suffolk Missions of Mercy Project.  More than 550 Tidewater residents met them on the gym floor of the Kings Fork Middle School.  This project marks the 80th M.O.M. Project in Virginia.  In 2014 alone, MOM projects served over 3,400 patients and completed over 18,800 dental procedures all with the help of volunteers, donors, and sponsors!

The VDAF has launched its new Charitable Care Reporting Program!  The goal is to capture the total amount of charitable work performed by Virginia Dentists.  Not only will this data demonstrate the dentists’ compassion,  it is an opportunity to enhance the image of the profession, too.
