Medical Device Tax Update

December 14, 2012

As you are aware, the American Dental Association recently sent an action alert regarding the medical device tax to our grassroots network.  Over 16,000 messages were sent to Capitol Hill, from dentists indicating what an important issue this is to dentistry.

On December 4th, 18 senators and senators-elect signed a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) requesting a delay in implementing the medical device tax until further guidance is provided to the medical device industry on how to comply with the provision.

Click HERE for a copy of the letter.

The letter is a meaningful symbol that our advocacy is not falling upon deaf ears in Congress, and that we can make a difference in the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in the coming years, especially with regard to clarifying whether dental devices should be taxed under this law.

Thank you for your contributions to the oral health of this nation.  We will keep you informed as this issue continues to develop.
