Virginia Board of Dentistry Answers Your Questions Regarding Sedation Permits and Unannounced Inspections

September 02, 2014
Earlier this month, VDA members were given the opportunity to submit questions and concerns regarding the Board of Dentistry’s sedation permits and plans for the permit holder inspections.  These permit requirements and unannounced inspections will only be affecting those dentists who administer moderate/conscious sedation and general anesthesia/deep sedation.  By arranging for these concerns to be answered by the Executive Director of the Board of Dentistry, the VDA is responding to concerns expressed by some VDA members.  To review the list of questions and answers, please click HERE.  The VDA is extremely appreciative of Ms. Sandra Reen, Executive Director of the Board of Dentistry, for promptly taking the time to address these questions.
In moving forward, it is going to take member participation in solving concerns.  Letters and emails can be very impactful.  If you still have questions or concerns regarding the permits and inspections, the VDA encourages you to submit them directly to Ms. Reen at  Letters can also be mailed to her attention at: Perimeter Center, 9960 Mayland Dr., Ste. 300, Henrico, VA 23233.  Attending the Board of Dentistry meetings is also a powerful way to express concerns.  The next Board of Dentistry meeting is on Friday, September 12 at 9:00 a.m.  Information on this meeting can be found by clicking here <>
