The program of the VADSM Annual Meeting and Conference is intended for dentists and dental professionals who are either currently treating patients with obstructive sleep apnea or snoring through the utilization of oral appliance therapy, or seeking an in-depth introduction to dental
sleep medicine. Learning objectives, include:

  • Acquire knowledge about the management of obstructive sleep apnea in both adults and children;
  • Review state-of-the-art knowledge surrounding recent advances in dental sleep medicine and treatment strategies;
  • Discuss the relationship between OSA, cardiovascular disease and other associatd comorbidities;
  • Understand evidence regarding long-term oral appliance therapy, including potential side effects and options for managing complications;
  • Compare and contrast recording channels for an in-lab PSG vs a HST;
  • Understand AASM Guidelines for HST and PSG Scoring;
  • Discuss Differences between Complex Sleep Apnea and OSA;
  • Learn how to apply best practices for building a successful dental sleep medicine practices.
