The Virginia Dental Association Foundation again treats thousands of people in dire need of dental care at the annual M.O.M. Project in southwest Virginia. Watch the powerful day unfold through the words and pictures of patients and VDA member dentists.

How many VDA members can you spot?
Heather Herranney, a mother of five from Lebanon, Va, this morning became the 50,000th patient seen during 14 years of Mission of Mercy free care projects conducted by the Va Dental Association and its foundation. It happened at a M.O.M. event in Wise County. Heather came to get two teeth filled and was surprised to be selected. Dentaquest provided several gifts. The event continues through Sunday.
Prescribers registered to use the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) may request a report of their prescribing history for the past 90 days. The feature is found under View Reports and the Heading of Practitioner Self-Lookup. The user will click on View Report then select PDF under Select a Format, then click on Export. A PDF file of the prescriber's prescribing history of dispensed controlled substances for the past 90 days will then be available. The user may save this report for later viewing or print the report if desired. This feature is meant to assist

The Alliance of the American Dental Association is coordinating a nation-wide community service project in conjunction with the ADA Convention in New Orleans, October 31 and November 1, 2013. Head-to-Toe (H2T), a project that has toured the states since 2011 is making a stop in New Orleans – and we need your help. Through generous giving of the dental community the Alliance hopes to assemble at least 3,000 kits containing a hat, a pair of socks, a tooth brush, toothpaste and personal care items or small toy.
