OAK BROOK, Ill. (Feb. 27, 2014) – The Tooth Fairy was a lot more generous in 2013 than the year before, with the going rate for a lost baby tooth rising more than 44 percent from 2012 levels.

Locally, the Dental Trade Alliance has received DVD versions of the PSAs that allows for non-stop play for busy dental offices who want to entertain their patients and spread the messge of brushing two minutes, twice a day.
Richmond, VA –The Virginia Dental Association Foundation (VDAF) recently received a generous $5,000 grant from the BJ’s Charitable Foundation (BJCF) to purchase disposable dental supplies and one-step denture unit templates and to repair or replace small dental equipment for the Mission of Mercy (MOM) program.

Dr. Sharone Ward, a dentist in Chester and member of the Virginia Dental Association, recently saw a 51-year-old male patient in need of a filling. As she does routinely, Ward took the patient's blood pressure and was surprised to find that it was 200/120, an extreme hypertensive value and well above the normal range of 120/70.

Heather Herranney, a mother of five from Lebanon, Va, this morning became the 50,000th patient seen during 14 years of Mission of Mercy free care projects conducted by the Va Dental Association and its foundation. It happened at a M.O.M. event in Wise County. Heather came to get two teeth filled and was surprised to be selected. Dentaquest provided several gifts. The event continues through Sunday.
